MUFG, one of the world’s leading financial groups with a rich heritage spanning over 350 years and a global presence in more than 50 countries, is seeking a Vice President, Global Risk Framework Lead for Enterprise Risk Governance on a 12-month fixed term contract. Based in London at Ropemaker Place, this pivotal role offers you the opportunity to shape and enhance MUFG’s global risk governance framework by collaborating with stakeholders across EMEA, other regions, and Tokyo Head Office. What you'll do:
As Vice President, Global Risk Framework Lead for Enterprise Risk Governance at MUFG, you will be at the heart of developing and enhancing the organisation’s global risk governance framework. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve working closely with senior leaders across EMEA and other regions as well as Tokyo Head Office to ensure consistent implementation of best-in-class risk management practices. You will play a vital role in supporting stakeholder communications through project reporting while keeping abreast of market developments and regulatory changes. By proposing innovative approaches to evolve MUFG’s practices, you will help drive strategic technology-led solutions that minimise operational risks. Your collaborative efforts with various teams within Enterprise Risk Management will contribute significantly to achieving departmental objectives while nurturing a culture of cross-team cooperation. Success in this role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage complex workloads under tight deadlines—all within an inclusive environment where your contributions are valued.

- Collaborate with the Global Head of ERM and regional Heads of Enterprise Risk Governance to identify, implement, and embed global risk management practices including taxonomies, policies, appetite frameworks, and reporting.
- Engage with the project management office to support effective stakeholder communications and ensure timely project reporting across multiple regions.
- Maintain awareness of evolving market practices and regulatory expectations to propose enhancements that continuously evolve MUFG’s global governance framework.
- Support the development of strategic technology-led solutions designed to minimise operational risks arising from global risk framework activities.
- Work alongside other teams within Enterprise Risk Management to support broader departmental objectives and priorities, fostering cross-team collaboration and cultural development.
- Ensure entity-neutral performance by supporting both MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc without favour or bias, maintaining legal entity integrity as required.
- Identify potential conflicts or differences between business entities and escalate issues appropriately to line managers or department heads.
- Adhere strictly to regulatory requirements applicable to each business entity, ensuring compliance at all times.
- Contribute actively to the organisation of EMEA Risk Management Committee meetings and production of risk profile reporting for governance forums.
- Assist in managing new activity policies including new products, model risk governance, climate & environmental risk materiality assessments.
