If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC, and fulfil your potential - whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or an exciting new direction, we offer opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

We’re one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with a network that covers more than 50 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

We're currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of Innovation and Asset Manager Relations. This is suited to a mid-career professional looking to broaden exposure through a global, cross-asset role.

Global Manager Selection serves as our centre of excellence for fund manager selection, research, and approval, encompassing mutual funds, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), and emerging investment vehicles. With dedicated teams in London, Hong Kong, and Bangalore, the team drives innovation across a broad range of asset classes, including Equity, Fixed Income, Multi-Asset, and sustainable investments. As Head of Innovation and Asset Manager Relations, you’ll spearhead the strategic evolution of our fund platform, championing cutting-edge investment solutions such as tokenised funds, public-private partnerships, and active ETFs. You’ll be responsible for building and nurturing impactful relationships with asset managers, driving product innovation, and ensuring we remain at the forefront of industry trends and client needs. You'll report directly to our Global Head of Funds, ETFs and Manager Selection, and will be part of the Global Manager Selection Leadership Team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
