As our industry continues to develop, so do we! We are now looking for a VP, Head of Operational Finance to lead and further develop our Operational Finance organisation, ensuring reliable Finance delivery while continuing to strengthen our people, processes and systems to support Cadeler’s continued growth.
What will you do?
As our new VP, Head of Operational Finance you will lead Cadeler's Accounting, Financial Controls and Finance Transformations teams. You will be responsible for ensuring strong and reliable Finance operations while continuing to strengthen our processes, controls and leadership capabilities while driving systems optimisation, automation and scalable ways of working.
A key part of the role is people leadership; developing our Finance Operations leaders, bringing teams together across locations and creating clarity, ownership and accountability while leading the organisation through continued change and transformation.
Your main tasks include:
- Lead the Finance Operations function, coaching and developing the team while ensuring clear ownership, strong delivery discipline, effective capacity management and collaboration across teams and locations.
- Ensure effective execution of month-end close and accounting operations, including entity accounting, journals, reconciliations and core processes across AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, banking, intercompany and revenue accounting.
- Ensuring high-quality financial reporting, providing accurate and timely data, reporting inputs and documentation for Group reporting, external reporting and audit.
- Oversee financial controls and review, including P&L and balance sheet analysis, variance reviews, entity/project reviews, and remediation of control deficiencies.
- Ensure effective preparation of local statutory accounts and coordination of local statutory audits.
- Lead the Finance Transformation function and oversee the effectiveness of Finance systems, including Oracle, SERTICA, EyeShare, Pleo and related tools while driving systems optimization, process redesign, automation, training and continuous improvement.
- Drive operational excellence, improve close predictability, reduce manual work, strengthen process ownership, and increase visibility of finance data.
- Collaborate closely with the Compliance & Reporting team to ensure that output, reconciliations, accounting support, control evidence and audit documentation meet external reporting, SOX and audit requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Business Finance, Tax & Treasury, P&C, Legal, IT, Procurement and Operations to align finance processes and support business activities.

We are looking for an experienced finance leader who combines strong operational discipline and clear communication with an inclusive and engaging leadership style. You have a proven ability to bring teams together, create clarity and accountability, and lead people effectively through significant change. You bring a pragmatic approach to strengthening Finance operations and driving continuous improvement in a complex, fast paced, and international environment.
We think you will be a good match if you have:
- Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent and/or a recognised professional accounting qualification. Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Strong accounting, specifically IFRS knowledge, both technical and practical.
- Solid understanding of financial close processes and experience operating within a strong internal control environment. SOX experience is highly desirable.
- Strong ERP and finance systems experience, including experience with ERP implementation, stabilisation or optimization. Oracle Fusion experience is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience with finance transformation, process improvement, and automation.
- Significant experience in senior finance leadership roles within a complex international organization, preferably within a listed company environment.
- Proven background in accounting operations, financial close, financial control, process ownership and finance systems, with sufficient technical depth to provide effective leadership and challenge.
- Proven experience leading and developing teams through significant transformation, operational improvement, and periods of change.
- Demonstrated experience leading through leaders and building strong, accountable teams.
- Experience leading and collaborating across countries, cultures, and geographically dispersed teams.
- Experience managing external consultants, vendors, and implementation partners is advantageous.
