VP / Head of Sales, AI SaaS Startup

Location: UK – Hybrid / London
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: CEO / Founder

About the Company

We are working with an ambitious and rapidly growing AI SaaS startup that is developing innovative technology solutions for businesses. The company is at an exciting stage of growth, with a strong product proposition, significant market opportunity, and an ambitious vision for the future. As the business scales, we are looking for an entrepreneurial and commercially driven VP / Head of Sales to take ownership of the sales function and play a key role in driving the company's next phase of growth.

This is a startup environment, so we are looking for someone who has genuinely operated within an early-stage or high-growth SaaS and AI business and understands how to build and scale a sales organisation from the ground up.

The Role

As VP / Head of Sales, you will own the company's sales strategy, revenue growth, and commercial execution, while playing a key role in developing and driving the overall go-to-market strategy. Working closely with the CEO, founders, and wider leadership team, you will help define the company's market positioning, target customer segments, sales strategy, and routes to market. You will then translate that strategy into a scalable and high-performing commercial operation.

This is a hands-on leadership role. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable shaping strategy, winning major customers, building pipeline, recruiting sales talent, and putting the infrastructure in place to scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in developing and driving the company's overall go-to-market strategy
  • Own and execute the sales strategy in line with the company's wider commercial objectives
  • Help define target markets, customer segments, positioning, and routes to market
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing sales organisation
  • Establish scalable sales processes, methodologies, KPIs, forecasting, and reporting
  • Drive new business acquisition and recurring SaaS revenue growth
  • Develop and manage enterprise and strategic customer relationships
  • Build a predictable and scalable sales pipeline
  • Recruit, coach, and develop Account Executives, SDRs, and sales leadership as the business scales
  • Work closely with the CEO, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product teams to optimise the go-to-market approach
  • Develop pricing, packaging, and commercial propositions in partnership with the leadership team
  • Identify new markets, sectors, and revenue opportunities
  • Establish a strong sales culture based around accountability, performance, and continuous improvement
  • Provide accurate revenue forecasting and commercial insight to the CEO and board
  • Act as a senior ambassador for the business with customers, partners, and the wider market

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Person

We are looking for an entrepreneurial sales leader rather than a traditional corporate sales executive. You will be someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys building rather than inheriting, and is comfortable getting involved at every level of the sales process.

You will have the credibility to operate at board and C-suite level, but also the energy and hunger to pick up the phone, win customers, and build the foundations of a world-class sales organisation.

If you have not worked within a SaaS startup or scale-up environment, this role is unlikely to be suitable.

What We Offer

  • Competitive executive-level base salary
  • Significant performance-based bonus/commission opportunity
  • Equity/share options
  • Flexible UK working environment
  • Opportunity to join an ambitious, high-growth AI SaaS startup
  • Significant autonomy and ownership of the sales function
  • Direct exposure to the CEO, founders, and leadership team
  • Opportunity to help shape the go-to-market strategy and build the commercial organisation from an early stage
  • Genuine opportunity for progression into a broader Chief Revenue Officer / CCO role as the business scales
