About the Role

The Vice President of IT Procurement is accountable for building and executing the global procurement strategy for all technology spend across Rolls-Royce, including software, cloud, infrastructure, telecoms, managed services, cyber, digital platforms, enterprise applications, professional services and emerging technology requirements.

The role leads a high-performing global IT procurement organisation, partnering with Digital, Cyber, Finance, Legal, Commercial, Risk, Security, Engineering, GBS and business stakeholders to deliver commercial value, supplier resilience, innovation, compliance, cost control and risk mitigation across the technology supplier landscape.

The role is responsible for shaping category strategies, enterprise supplier partnerships, sourcing governance, contract negotiation, demand management, licence optimisation, third-party risk management and value realisation across the end-to-end technology procurement lifecycle.

Key Accountabilities

  • Define and lead the global IT procurement strategy, ensuring alignment with Rolls-Royce’s digital strategy, cyber agenda, cost objectives, technology roadmap, supplier risk appetite and enterprise transformation priorities
  • Lead strategic sourcing, commercial negotiation and supplier strategy across software, cloud, infrastructure, telecoms, digital services, cyber, enterprise applications, managed services and technology professional services
  • Own the commercial relationship with strategic technology suppliers, ensuring supplier performance, innovation, resilience, contractual compliance, continuous improvement and value realisation are actively managed
  • Deliver material savings, cost avoidance and value protection through demand challenge, licence optimisation, commercial restructuring, contract consolidation, competitive sourcing, benchmarking and market intelligence
  • Partner with Digital, Cyber, Legal, Finance, Security, Risk and business stakeholders to ensure technology sourcing decisions balance value, speed, resilience, regulatory compliance, information security and business outcomes
  • Strengthen governance across technology demand, sourcing approvals, supplier onboarding, contract management, software asset management, third-party risk, data protection, cyber controls and commercial commitments
  • Build, develop and lead a commercially capable global IT procurement team, creating clear category ownership, succession depth, stakeholder confidence and a culture of performance, collaboration and continuous improvement

Key Experiences and Qualifications

  • Significant senior procurement leadership experience in IT, technology, digital, cyber, cloud, software, infrastructure or managed services categories within a large, complex global organisation
  • Proven track record of delivering substantial commercial value through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, demand management, licence optimisation, contract restructuring and enterprise supplier management
  • Strong understanding of technology supplier markets, software licensing, SaaS, cloud consumption, outsourcing, cyber services, infrastructure, telecoms, data platforms, ERP, digital transformation and technology commercial models
  • Experience managing strategic suppliers and complex contracts, including commercial governance, service obligations, performance management, risk mitigation, innovation roadmaps and executive supplier relationships
  • Experience operating in regulated, global or security-sensitive environments, with awareness of information security, cyber risk, export control, data protection, resilience, continuity and third-party risk requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to lead global teams, influence senior stakeholders, manage competing priorities and deliver transformation in a matrix organisation
