MUFG is seeking to appoint a Vice President Non-Bank Financial Institutions Credit Analyst within its esteemed London-based Credit Analysis Department. This position affords the opportunity to work in concert with Global Corporate and Investment Banking teams, delivering critical credit analysis and risk management across an extensive EMEA portfolio comprising insurance companies and specialist lenders. You will be entrusted with the evaluation of live transactions, intricate credit cases, and regulatory developments, thereby ensuring optimal risk-return outcomes for the organisation’s lending and trading activities. What you'll do:

In the capacity of Vice President Non-Bank Financial Institutions Credit Analyst based in London, you will assume a pivotal role overseeing credit work pertaining to NBFIs across developed economies. Your daily responsibilities will encompass:

  • Conducting comprehensive credit analysis on live transactions and annual reviews whilst maintaining close collaboration with relationship bankers.
  • Leading new client approvals by setting prudent credit appetite levels and negotiating terms that ensure effective risk mitigation.
  • Structuring both syndicated and bilateral loans with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Participating in complex or high-profile credit cases by swiftly identifying key issues, communicating salient points to stakeholders, and evaluating risk-reward trade-offs.
  • Managing multiple priorities efficiently in a dynamic environment while ensuring adherence to internal rules and reporting procedures.
  • Supporting the Head of FI Credit Analysis Department in training, supervising, and nurturing junior team members through knowledge sharing initiatives.
  • Assisting with other team workflow on the Financial Institutions side as required or appropriate to maintain departmental cohesion.
  • Analysing economic, market, regulatory, industry events or developments to assess their impact on the portfolio; reporting relevant findings to senior risk management.
  • Interpreting stress testing results at counterparty, country or industry level and taking appropriate actions based on analytical insights.
