VP of Business Development

We’re looking for a VP of Business Development to lead and grow OIP Insurtech’s UK business across the Lloyd’s and London market. You’ll own the UK go-to-market strategy and revenue target, while driving new business, growing client relationships, and helping shape the next stage of our UK growth. Working closely with our BDR, marketing, solution consulting, account management, and delivery teams, you’ll have a key role in expanding OIP Insurtech’s presence in the UK and helping clients across the market transform their insurance operations through technology and AI.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and execute the UK go-to-market strategy, with accountability for achieving the UK revenue target
  • Win new business across managing agents, MGAs, carriers, brokers, and other specialty insurance organizations
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships across the Lloyd’s and London market
  • Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline, personally leading discovery, proposals, negotiations, and deal closing
  • Grow existing client accounts by identifying cross-sell opportunities and developing new engagements in partnership with delivery teams
  • Work closely with BDR, marketing, solution consulting, account management, and delivery teams to develop and convert opportunities
  • Represent OIP at industry events and build the company’s presence across the UK insurance market
  • Forecast and report on pipeline and revenue performance, using market insight and sales data to guide priorities
  • Build and lead the UK sales team as the business grows, establishing a strong and effective sales organization

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in sales or business development within UK insurance or the London market
  • Proven track record of winning and growing enterprise clients for a technology, professional services, or insurance services business
  • Demonstrated experience owning revenue targets and consistently developing new business
  • Strong understanding of the Lloyd’s and London market, including delegated authority
  • Established senior-level network across insurers, MGAs, brokers, and other specialty insurance organizations
  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to understand operational challenges and develop compelling business cases
  • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to work collaboratively with teams across different locations
  • Experience building or leading a sales team is an advantage

Work Environment & Requirements:

  • Location: London, UK office
  • Five days per week in the London office
  • Regular in-person interaction with clients and industry contacts across the Lloyd’s and London market
  • Occasional travel for client meetings, conferences, and industry events

Nice to have:

  • Experience selling insurance software, AI solutions, or outsourced insurance operations services
  • Experience working with technology-enabled transformation or insurance operations

Compensation and benefits:

  • Salary: £110,000–£135,000 base; £185,000–£225,000 on-target earnings
  • Equipment: Provided by OIP Insurtech, including a laptop and supported equipment
  • Flexible working hours: In agreement with the supervisor

  • Pension: 5% of the total monthly base salary
  • Travel insurance and travel expenses for business-related travel
  • 23 vacation days
