About Maze Theory

Maze Theory is a pioneering studio driven by "Storytelling 3.0" - creating next-generation immersive gaming and narrative experiences that cross boundaries across VR, XR, PC, console, and emerging spatial platforms. By blending active player presence with iconic global IP (such as Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom, Doctor Who, and Project Hail Mary), we put players at the heart of extraordinary worlds.

Role Overview

We are seeking an exceptional VP of Creative, Design & Marketing to act as the direct strategic right-hand to the CEO. Drawing inspiration from top-tier immersive design leadership, this role bridges VR/XR creative vision with market positioning, brand identity, and audience acquisition.

As a fully remote UK-based executive, you will lead the end-to-end creative trajectory of our VR titles and visual IP - from early spatial design concepts and virtual gameplay mechanics to brand narrative, high-impact marketing campaigns, and social/community growth.

This is a hands-on position for someone ready to deliver unforgettable interactive experiences and pioneer a new form of immersive storytelling – there is a focus on ‘doing’ and making the smart decisions, quickly and effectively - you will be expected to roll your sleeves up as well as be strategic.

Responsibilities

Executive & Strategic Leadership (CEO Right-Hand)

  • Strategic Partnering: Collaborate directly with the CEO to define studio vision, portfolio roadmaps, and spatial gaming positioning. Translate executive growth goals into executable creative, VR design, and go-to-market strategies.
  • IP & Platform Pitch Leadership: Co-lead high-stakes pitches to major IP holders, platform partners (Meta, PlayStation VR2, Apple, SteamVR), and strategic investors - translating complex VR/XR design concepts into compelling commercial visions.
  • Remote Team Leadership: Drive cross-departmental alignment across remote Game Design, VR R&D, Art, Brand Marketing, and Social/Community to foster a unified creative voice.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
