Role Overview
The Practice Client Leader is a senior, market-facing executive responsible for helping clients reimagine how work gets done through intelligent automation, AI agents, business orchestration, and modern digital experiences.
The role spans traditional workflow and process automation, business process orchestration, robotic process automation, deterministic and reasoning AI agents, low-code platforms, and the emerging class of agentic automation technologies.
This leader will work directly with client executives to identify high-value transformation opportunities, shape strategies and solutions, originate and grow business, and ensure Virtusa brings together the right combination of platforms, AI capabilities, engineering, and domain expertise to deliver measurable business outcomes.
The role is intentionally platform-agnostic. Technologies may include Pega, Camunda, UiPath and other RPA platforms, hyperscaler AI services, enterprise agent platforms, workflow technologies, API and integration platforms, and custom engineering.
The Practice Client Leader should be equally comfortable discussing business operating models with a COO, application strategy with a CIO, process architecture with an operations leader, and AI orchestration with enterprise technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
Client Strategy & Executive Advisory
- Engage senior client executives to identify opportunities to transform business operations, customer experiences, and employee experiences through automation and AI.
- Develop client-specific strategies for intelligent automation, business orchestration, AI agents, process modernization, and digital experience transformation.
- Help clients determine where deterministic automation, reasoning agents, human decision-making, workflow, and traditional applications should each play a role.
- Advise clients on the evolution from traditional workflow automation toward agentic operating models and systems of agency.
- Translate emerging AI and automation technologies into practical business strategies and investment priorities.
Business Process & Orchestration Transformation
- Identify complex, cross-functional business processes that require orchestration across people, AI agents, enterprise platforms, applications, and data.
- Shape future-state operating models that reduce fragmentation, manual coordination, and process debt.
- Promote business-context orchestration as the layer that coordinates work across systems of record, systems of engagement, AI agents, and human participants.
- Identify opportunities to replace brittle point automation with governed, observable, end-to-end business processes.
- Help clients rationalize and modernize existing BPM, workflow, RPA, and low-code estates.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Reimagine fragmented user journeys as coordinated, context-aware experiences supported by automation and AI.
- Connect customer experience, employee experience, workflow, case management, decisioning, and AI into unified business outcomes.

Platform & Architecture Strategy

- Help clients determine the appropriate platform for each business capability based on business requirements, economics, scalability, maintainability, and strategic fit.
