VP, Quantitative Developer – Institutional Digital Assets

Location: London (On-site/Hybrid)
Position Type: Full-time

The Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled VP-level Quantitative Developer to join their active Crypto trading desk. In this high-impact position, you will collaborate closely with traders, quants, and fellow engineers to design, implement, and optimize sophisticated market-making and quantitative trading strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Algorithm Development: Develop, implement, and maintain high-performance trading algorithms and models specifically tailored for Crypto markets.
  • System Optimization: Optimize existing trading systems for maximum speed, reliability, and scalability while ensuring minimal downtime on live trading systems.
  • Strategy Execution: Collaborate with quantitative analysts and traders to fully understand complex trading strategies and translate them into highly efficient code.
  • Data Integration: Integrate new data sources and guarantee data integrity for accurate model inputs.
  • AI Adoption: Actively champion and leverage modern AI tools (including generative AI, data copilots, and automation platforms) to dramatically improve day-to-day productivity and output quality.

What We Are Looking For

  • Core Engineering: Proven experience working in algorithmic trading environments with exceptionally strong programming skills in Java.
  • Trading Systems: Deep experience building and maintaining high-frequency / low-latency trading systems.
  • Domain Expertise: Prior experience working directly on an FX or Cryptocurrency trading desk.
  • Market Data: Advanced knowledge of tick data analytics and real-time market data processing.
  • DeFi Execution: Proven hands-on experience integrating and executing trading strategies on top-tier DeFi platforms (specifically SOL / ETH).
  • Infrastructure: Familiarity with cloud-based market access or hybrid deployment models.

Bonus Points:

  • Direct experience with Market Making or Market Making as a Service (MMaaS).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and modern DevOps processes.
  • Exposure to heavily regulated or compliance-driven trading environments.
