MUFG is seeking to appoint a Vice President in Rates Sales to its London office, with a focus on delivering Rates products to its Financial Institution clients. What You'll Do

In the capacity of Vice President - Rates Sales based in London, you will assume a pivotal role in facilitating the delivery of Rates products to Financial Institution clients. Your responsibilities will encompass bringing, developing and expanding client relationships with particular attention to risk controls whilst engaging collaboratively with international teams across multiple departments. You will be instrumental in executing strategies that align seamlessly with both regional imperatives and global ambitions. By fostering robust relationships internally and externally, you will contribute significantly to sustainable franchise growth whilst ensuring all undertakings meet stringent compliance standards. Success in this role necessitates thoughtful responsiveness to client needs, comprehensive communication regarding product offerings, and adherence to high ethical standards that uphold the organisation’s reputation. Your ability to harmonise commercial objectives with regulatory obligations will be paramount as you participate actively in business development initiatives.

  • Contribute meaningfully to the execution of departmental strategy by aligning daily activities with both regional and international business objectives as well as entity requirements.
  • Manage and oversee your portfolio of Financial Institution clients, ensuring risks and controls are maintained within the parameters established by the Risk Management Committee.
  • Conduct all business activities in strict accordance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements including Volcker, EMIR, and MIFID.
  • Maintain and enhance positive working relationships between the Rates Sales EMEA department and other stakeholders such as business teams and control/infrastructure teams globally.
  • Collaborate extensively with broader Global Markets, Corporate Investment Bank, and Japan Corporate Investment Bank teams to develop business opportunities on an international scale.
  • Identify, monitor, and escalate risks across your product domain in accordance with delegated authority; ensure compliance within approved risk limits for Rates Sales EMEA/Institutional Investor Sales.
  • Safeguard and enhance the reputation of the Firm through responsible conduct in all activities; adhere rigorously to Client Ownership Charter standards.
  • Deliver sustainable client-focused flow-oriented business aligned with client strategy; optimise profitability by leveraging the Group’s customer franchise.
  • Respond promptly to client enquiries in a manner sensitive to risk; provide clear explanations of risks and rewards associated with products so clients may make informed decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal risk controls by personally adhering to relevant policies/procedures and guiding any team members (where applicable) accordingly.
