Senior Product Development Specialist
Citi is looking for a Senior Product Development Specialist to join its Complex Assets team within Investor Services, based at Citi's EMEA headquarters in London. In this role, you will act as a recognised technical authority, executing the end-to-end product development lifecycle for complex financial instruments — including OTC derivatives, Exchange Traded Derivatives, and Portfolio Swaps — and translating client needs and market trends into tangible product solutions. This is a high-impact individual contributor role for a specialist who combines deep domain knowledge with strong analytical capability and a track record of delivering across cross-functional product initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Execute the end-to-end product development lifecycle for Complex Assets, scoping product releases, defining technical requirements, and tracking delivery against agreed business priorities.
- Gather and organise client insights, market analyses, and internal innovation ideas to develop new product concepts, features, and functionality aligned to business objectives.
- Coordinate the design and delivery of product features through to release, serving as a product ambassador and key technical point of contact within the user community.
- Identify and implement solutions across data analytics, reporting, trade workflows, and trade processing to address specific client and business requirements.
- Produce clear project plans, business analysis documentation, and technical requirements specifications to underpin feasible and well-structured product execution.
- Engage directly with sales, business managers, and Technology teams to understand long-term strategic goals, incorporate industry trends, and shape the product and solutions roadmap.
- Conduct controls and governance activities, including security and access reviews, access approvals, and controls testing, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and firm policy.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
