Position Summary

Quotient is seeking a highly strategic, intellectually agile, and clinically minded leader to serve as Vice President of Translational Medicine. This is a senior clinical leadership role responsible for integrating clinical insights across scientific, drug discovery and corporate teams to support prioritization of disease areas, drug targets, medicine profiles, and leading early translational planning into clinical development strategies with a high probability of clinical and regulatory success.

The role will provide both strategic and scientific leadership opportunities and the opportunity to work across a broad span of functional areas including human genetics, human target validation, translational biology, biomarker discovery, clinical pharmacology, and clinical development and commercial strategy. This individual will have a strong influence on the shape and direction of Quotient’s drug discovery pipeline strategy, applying deep clinical insight to evaluate and prioritize somatic genomics-discovered drug targets, assets, and development plans across a wide range of disease areas.

This role would suit an MD or MD/PhD with a background in early clinical development within a pharma, biotech, or translational research setting who is comfortable working in a scientifically rich environment to help shape drug development programs from the earliest stages of discovery. As Quotient’s drug discovery pipeline expands, this individual will be expected to assume clinical leadership of Quotient’s Phase 1/2 clinical trials; working with CROs and a growing internal clinical development team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical insight into disease area strategy assessments, target selection, and translational biology planning across a range of discovery projects.
  • Apply structured clinical reasoning across a broad range of therapeutic areas — evaluating unmet need, current/future standard of care, patient/treatment/diagnostic barriers, clinical feasibility, and early clinical signals
  • Identify transformational medicine opportunities where Quotient’s platform could be used to develop new medicines in ways not possible with existing approaches.
  • Gather and support the integration of inputs from across disciplines (scientific, clinical, commercial, regulatory) to support the development of early target medicine profiles (TMP)
  • Adopt and test agentic AI algorithms to support clinical indication ideation and clinical trial prediction to support pipeline decision-making
  • Actively develop novel clinical development strategies and detailed plans, study protocols, and associated documents across all phases of development, reflecting internal and external stakeholder input (e.g., patients, evidence generation, regulators, payors, pharmacovigilance).
  • Bring clinical expertise to regulatory interactions and documents including briefing documents, presentations, IND/CTA submissions
  • Provide medical monitoring and oversight of the safety of study participants in Quotient’s clinical trials.
  • Establish and nurture a network of external clinical experts and advisors to pressure-test hypotheses, support indication selection, and refine development strategies.
  • Serve as a clinical strategy partner in investor discussions and partnering conversations

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
