At Verda, we're building a full-stack AI cloud, covering everything from data centers and hardware to our own cloud platform that the world's leading AI teams use to do serious AI work.
We strive to make a positive mark on the world through the infrastructure we build and give leading teams a service they can truly depend on. Headquartered in Helsinki, we operate globally with offices in London and San Francisco.
Join Verda while it's still being built - not once it's finished.
About the role
You lead the next stage of Verda's cloud platform: developing new capabilities, improving performance and reliability, and scaling services as customer demand grows. Your scope brings together compute, storage, Kubernetes, serverless, and inference with the console, APIs, developer tooling, identity, and billing customers need to use them. You own the platform's technical direction and the organisation delivering it, including Customer Support.
The platform serves both people and AI agents. Customers should be able to discover, provision, and manage services through a consistent experience across the console, APIs, SDKs, CLI, and agent integrations.
Working with EVP Engineering, Product, and the VP of Infrastructure, you'll turn company priorities into platform improvements that help us win and retain customers globally, with clear ownership across teams.
Your main impact comes from developing leaders, improving how teams work, and continuously advancing AI-assisted engineering. Success means shorter delivery cycles, more dependable services, and teams that can independently own a broader range of platform capabilities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What you'll do
- Set the platform vision and goals. Translate company goals into clear platform and team outcomes with Product. Work backwards from customer needs, choose which problems matter, and decide what to build, buy, or integrate.
- Multiply impact through others. Hire deliberately against the capabilities we need. Coach Engineering Managers and technical leaders, strengthen their judgment, and give teams clear ownership.
- Own platform delivery. Agree customer outcomes and realistic commitments with Product, allocate capacity, remove blockers, and surface risks early.
- Lead through technical depth. Contribute to designs and implementation. Challenge decisions that slow us down or take the platform away from its goals, and help teams find a better path.
- Make the platform work for humans and agents. Enable both to complete real workflows, with clear interfaces, scoped permissions, predictable behaviour, and visibility into actions, costs, and results.
- Continuously improve AI-assisted workflows. Use coding agents yourself, experiment with better development, testing, and review practices, and scale what works. Assess results through delivery speed, defects, and rework.
- Raise service quality. Raise the bar for testing, security, observability, and operations. Turn customer feedback and recurring incidents into lasting improvements.

What we're looking for
- Experience scaling an engineering organisation, including developing managers and technical leaders, with evidence of faster delivery, higher quality, and broader team ownership.
- Deep technical judgment in cloud platforms or distributed systems, and current confidence writing, reviewing, and debugging production software.
- A record of carrying technical decisions through implementation and improving delivery or reliability.
- Product and business judgment: you connect the big picture to technical detail and focus engineering effort on a clear customer or business purpose.
- Conviction that AI changes how engineering works, backed by practical use of coding agents and a willingness to rethink established workflows.
- Clear communication, influence, and collaboration, backed by empathy and self-awareness. You listen well, explain your reasoning, and have the courage to make difficult calls.
- Experience with GPU cloud services, developer platforms, or AI workloads is a plus. We care about what you've built and the people you've developed.
