Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Vulcaniser role based in Yorkshire. The Vulcaniser will prepare, repair, and vulcanise rubber components, including conveyor belts and related industrial parts, following technical specifications and safety procedures. Day-to-day tasks include measuring and cutting materials, operating vulcanising presses and hand tools, inspecting finished work for quality, and documenting completed jobs. The role involves working closely with the engineering team, supporting installations and maintenance work, and adhering to health and safety standards at all times. The position also requires travel to customer sites and flexibility to respond to urgent repair needs.

Qualifications
- Experience with vulcanising processes, including rubber bonding, belt joining, and repair of industrial components.
- Practical engineering skills, such as basic mechanical fitting, use of hand and power tools, and interpreting technical drawings or job specifications.
- Strong focus on health and safety, including safe handling of equipment, awareness of site safety procedures, and compliance with company policies.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities to identify faults, assess repair options, and ensure reliable outcomes.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors, and maintain professional relationships with customers.
- Physical capability to perform manual work, including lifting, standing, and working in industrial environments for extended periods.
- Previous experience in vulcanising, conveyor belt maintenance, or a related industrial trade is highly beneficial.
- Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in engineering, mechanical maintenance, or a similar field is an advantage.
- Willingness to learn, follow training, and develop skills within a specialist vulcanising and engineering environment.
