Vulnerability Analyst β Contract β Major UK Retail Bank
π London, Milton Keynes or Edinburgh β 1 to 2 days per week on-site
π· Day rate TBC β Inside IR35
β³ 3 months, initial with possible extension for 2027
π Start: ASAP
A major UK retail bank needs a hands-on Vulnerability Analyst for its security team. You'll own the work from finding a vulnerability to getting it fixed, and you'll work with platform teams and suppliers to close the gaps, not just report them.
What you'll be doing
- Running regular vulnerability scans across networks, systems, and applications, then triaging and prioritising what matters
- Using Qualys for CIS benchmark compliance scanning and working with platform owners until each failure is fixed
- Agreeing remediation plans with internal teams and third-party suppliers, and tracking them through to closure
- Recommending risk mitigations where a fix isn't feasible
- Building metrics and reporting on remediation trends and the bank's overall vulnerability position

Iβm in my final year doing Economics and I donβt know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer β it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donβt need a masters. Letβs look at the ones youβd be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
