Vulnerability Analyst
Robert Half are supporting a fast-paced financial services organisation in the appointment of an experienced Vulnerability Analyst to join a growing security function on an initial 10-month contract.
This role will play a key part in identifying, assessing, prioritising, and coordinating the remediation of security vulnerabilities across a complex technology estate. You will act as the bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating vulnerability findings into actionable remediation plans and ensuring risks are effectively managed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct threat and vulnerability assessments to identify security risks across the environment.
- Analyse and prioritise vulnerabilities based on risk, business impact, and remediation complexity.
- Coordinate and develop remediation plans with infrastructure, engineering, and operational teams.
- Perform vulnerability scanning activities and validate remediation efforts.
- Work closely with technical teams to implement security patches and updates.
- Investigate vulnerabilities impacting operating systems, software packages, libraries, and infrastructure components.
- Support the standardisation and optimisation of vulnerability management processes and workflows.
- Develop and maintain vulnerability reporting, tracking, and remediation metrics.
- Translate complex technical findings into clear and actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.
- Promote security awareness and best practices across the organisation.
- Support security hardening initiatives and preventative security controls.

Required Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years' experience within Vulnerability Management, Threat & Vulnerability Analysis, or a related Cyber Security discipline.
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability management platforms such as Rapid7.
- Strong understanding of vulnerability assessment, risk prioritisation, and remediation practices.
- Experience managing vulnerabilities throughout their lifecycle from identification through to remediation and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience producing detailed findings, remediation recommendations, and status reporting.
- Strong organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise activities based on business risk.
- Advanced Excel skills, including data manipulation, analysis, and reporting using pivot tables and large datasets.

Desirable Experience:
As the scope of the team continues to expand, candidates with broader infrastructure and operating systems experience will be of particular interest.
Experience in any of the following would be highly advantageous:
- Supporting and administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
- Managing Linux packages and repositories.
- Coordinating operating system patching and upgrade programmes.
- Investigating vulnerabilities affecting operating systems, kernels, software packages, and libraries.
- Working within Unix/Linux-based environments.
- Infrastructure, systems administration, or platform engineering experience alongside vulnerability management responsibilities.
Contract:
- Competitive day rate
- Inside IR35 – PAYE
- 4 days per week in the office | Central London
