Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Waiter/Waitress role based at Harvey Nichols in Leeds. The role involves welcoming guests, presenting menus, taking food and beverage orders, and serving dishes in a timely and professional manner. Daily tasks include setting up and clearing tables, maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards, and handling payments accurately. The Waiter/Waitress works closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated. The role also includes providing informed recommendations, managing guest queries and complaints courteously, and supporting colleagues during busy service periods to maintain a seamless guest experience.

- Ability to deliver attentive, courteous, and professional customer service, with a focus on creating memorable guest experiences.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact confidently with guests and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tables and tasks during busy periods.
- Basic numeracy and cash-handling skills, with experience using point-of-sale systems or willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service standards, including menu familiarity and understanding of dietary requirements, or interest in developing this knowledge.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, carry trays safely, and follow health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurants, or luxury retail environments is advantageous but not essential.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the restaurant’s schedule.
