Waiter/Waitress – Join the Team at Jang

Join the team at Engel & Jang, an exceptional restaurant, bar & events space situated on the Mezzanine of the iconic Royal Exchange in the heart of the City of London.

We are looking for an experienced, passionate and personable Waiter/Waitress to join our Front of House team. Start date: September 2026.

The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills and a natural ability to connect with guests. You will play an important role in creating a memorable dining experience by delivering warm, professional and consistently high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide warm, professional and attentive service to all guests.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of our food and drinks menus, including ingredients and allergens.
  • Confidently make recommendations and guide guests through our menu.
  • Serve food and beverages to consistently high standards.
  • Anticipate guest needs and ensure a smooth and enjoyable dining experience.
  • Work closely with the kitchen, bar and wider Front of House team to ensure efficient service.
  • Prepare and maintain tables and service areas to a high standard.
  • Assist with private events and functions when required.
  • Follow all health & safety, food hygiene and company procedures.
  • Deliver consistently high standards of hospitality and guest service.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Waiter or in a similar Front of House role within a quality restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Warm, confident and professional personality.
  • Highly motivated, proactive and enthusiastic approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a busy Front of House team.
  • A natural hospitality professional who enjoys interacting with guests.
  • Good knowledge of food, wine and beverages is an advantage.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent service standards.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the UK.

The Role

  • £16.27 per hour.
  • 40-hour contract.
  • Monday to Saturday operation – we are closed on Sundays.
