Job Overview

Band 4 Waiting List Coordinator

The Trauma & Orthopaedic department has an exciting opportunity for a Waiting List Coordinator.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Maintain surgeons’ theatre diaries, selecting appropriate case mix in chronological order, acknowledging clinical priority
  • Coordinate admission and associated pre-operative assessment clinics, ensuring all key staff are aware of organizational arrangements
  • Act as a contact point, liaising with patients, relatives, medical representatives, GP’s/other hospitals, nursing staff, surgical team, and support services
  • Record performance of additional capacity to meet demand/shortfall in elective capacity
  • Liaise with consultants and other staff regarding annual leave and other absences, ensuring operating lists are appropriately booked and closed if necessary
  • Manage the waiting list of a group of Consultants using Careflow, in accordance with the BNSSG Access Policy
  • Be aware of maximum waiting time targets for patients and monitor the Patient Target List (PTL) on a daily basis to ensure Government Access Targets are not breached
