Job Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available within the Specialised Surgery Directorate. The Dermatology Team at Royal Stoke/County Hospital is looking for an experienced and motivated individual with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to work as a Medical Secretary and Waiting list officer.
Responsibilities
- Possess a professional attitude to work and have the ability to work flexibly in a busy environment.
- Demonstrate experience of working as a waiting list officer with accuracy and excellent multitasking capabilities in all aspects of the workload.
- Work as part of a team and use initiative to prioritise your own workload to meet strict deadlines.
Key Duties
- Manage and coordinate minor operations bookings for patients, specifically for cancer patients.
- Schedule and manage Staffordshire Treatment Suite bookings, specifically for cancer patients.
- Monitor and prioritise workload to ensure timely patient access and service targets are met.
- Work closely with consultants and secretarial staff to facilitate patient pathways and clinic requirements.
- Answer incoming telephone queries from patients, staff, and other departments.
- Maintain accurate records and databases related to patient bookings and waiting lists.
- Liaise with internal teams to resolve booking conflicts or capacity issues.
- Ensure compliance with service standards, targets, and national guidelines for patient care.
