Waiting List Officer - Surgical Admissions
We are recruiting for a Waiting List Officer - Surgical Admissions who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
About the Role
The Waiting List Team book all elective surgery for our patients, ensuring that waiting times are fair and equitable and in order of clinical urgency.
Our aim is to fully utilise our operating theatre lists which is one of our most valuable resources.
You will join a team of Waiting List Officers within the Planned Care Division at the East & North Herts NHS Trust in Stevenage.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal with waiting lists and admissions for a specific group of patients
- Work with patient target lists
- Handle a high volume of telephone calls and enquiries
- Ensure all patients' case notes and x-ray files are traced and prepared in advance of their procedures/operations
- Identify patients on the Patient Administration System

Required Skills
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Ability to work within a team but using own initiative when required
Working Conditions
Please note that this role requires availability to work on Fridays. Your contracted hours will be worked across 3–4 days per week, with Wednesday being your day off.
