Are you a friendly and outgoing individual with a passion for providing exceptional customer service? Are you looking for a part-time role in a fun and dynamic environment? If so, we want you to join our team at Ye Olde Jolly Sailor in Teignmouth.

You will be responsible for providing excellent service to our customers. This includes greeting and seating guests, taking orders, serving food and drinks, and ensuring that our guests have a positive visit/dining experience. You will also be responsible for handling payments and maintaining a clean and organized area.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to multitask. A knowledge of food and beverage is preferred but not required, as we provide training for all our staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with established recipes and standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
  • Engage with customers, providing recommendations and answering questions about drink selections.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, demonstrating basic maths skills for processing payments.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and responsible alcohol service guidelines at all times.
  • Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service without compromising quality.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure seamless service delivery in the restaurant environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in bartending or a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of various beverages, cocktails, and drink preparation techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with food safety practices is advantageous.
  • A passion for customer service and creating memorable experiences for guests.
