Salary: £36,640

This is a non-driving, walking engineer role maintaining fare collection and ticketing equipment across West London's rail network, working on Network Rail property under the Sentinel scheme. It suits an engineer who's comfortable working independently across multiple sites without a company vehicle, keeping essential transport infrastructure running.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance and repair on fare collection and ticketing equipment across West London sites
  • Work independently, moving between sites on foot or via public transport
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on-site
  • Comply with Sentinel scheme and Network Rail safety requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed
  • Liaise with site teams and manage own visit schedule

  • Recognized certificate or diploma in electrical, mechanical, or electronic engineering
  • 3+ years' experience in an engineering field (2 years considered for exceptional candidates)
  • Eligible to hold a Sentinel card, with Cubic as sole sponsor

Strong Differentiators

  • Experience with automated fare collection systems (e.g. Scheidt & Bachmann)
  • Strong mechanical background (gears, motors, pulleys) over component-level electronics
  • Geographical knowledge of London (inside/outside the M25)
