Ward Administrator | Spire Murrayfield Hospital | Part Time | Permanent

Spire Murrayfield Hospital in Edinburgh are seeking an experienced administrator to join the team on a part-time basis, working 22.5 hours per week. As Ward Administrator, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the ward for patients, visitors, and staff.

Duties and responsibilities

These will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for providing administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the ward for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • To greet and provide a customer-focused, professional, and effective service that exceeds expectations to all Patients, Consultants, and Visitors to the hospital.
  • To deal with all telephone enquiries in an efficient and courteous manner.
  • To give clear, concise information to all enquiries.
  • To liaise with Catering Department regarding orders for refreshments by patients and visitors.
  • To inform insurance companies if extended length of stay is required to keep insurance companies informed of emergency admissions.
  • Ensure that patient notes are up to date and in the correct order and are taken to the appropriate place when a patient episode is complete.
  • Ensure that all filing of results and other information is accurately filed in the patient’s notes.

Who we're looking for:

  • Previous relevant experience in an administrative support role, within a similar industry would be ideal but not essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Customer Service skills.
  • Process driven.
  • Team player.
  • Computer literate.
  • Adept at handling various calls on a daily basis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliable and happy to work in different departments as required.
