Ward Administrator
Spire Yale Hospital, Wrexham | Administration | Part Time | Permanent | Afternoons only | £11,611.60 per annum plus excellent benefits
Spire Yale Hospital is looking for an experienced and motivated Ward Administrator to join our friendly Ward team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative and customer service skills who enjoys working in a busy, patient-focused environment.

Working hours
This is a part-time, permanent position working 17.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday:
- Monday: 1:30pm to 6:30pm
- Tuesday: 2:00pm to 6:30pm
- Wednesday: 2:30pm to 6:30pm
- Thursday: 2:00pm to 6:00pm
Duties and responsibilities
- Provide a high level of clerical and administrative support to the nursing, medical and wider Ward team.
- Welcome patients and visitors to the Ward, checking patient details and ensuring documentation is accurate and complete.
- Prepare admission packs and relevant patient documentation.
- Enter patient registration, admission and discharge information accurately onto hospital systems.
- Answer patient telephone calls and direct enquiries to the appropriate member of the team.
- Book follow-up appointments and support the coordination of hospital-based activities.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including filing results and clinical notes.
- Ensure the accurate and timely recording of patient charges.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information in line with hospital policies and Information Governance requirements.

Who we are looking for
- Previous experience in an administrative support role.
- Experience of working in a customer-facing or customer service environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.
- Confidence working independently and using your own initiative.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Good keyboard and computer skills.
- A professional, caring and discreet approach when dealing with patients and confidential information.
