Role Overview
The post holder will be a motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic individual who is willing and able to join the Compton Ward at NGH and to help us to maintain our high quality of service.
Responsibilities
- Work as an effective member of the team, providing quality administrative support to the wider team.
- Perform normal routine clerical duties, including:
- Filing
- Charting
- Making lists
- Completing forms
- Answer telephone, take messages and enquiries regarding patients’ condition after consultation with ward nursing staff, adhering to data protection policies.
- Operate patient administration computer system and ensure it is up to date at all times with details of all patients currently on the ward.
- Ensure all patient details on the computer are correct, including ethnic origin and religion.
- Record all patient discharges and transfer details on the computer as soon as possible after the event.
- Record all patients' admission, transfer, and discharge details in a timely manner.
- Maintain an adequate supply of stock levels to maintain the smooth running of the ward.
- Complete some housekeeping duties from time to time, including reorganizing stock and tidying to ensure the ward is presentable.
