About the Role

The Royal Oldham Hospital currently has 22 critical care beds in three pods, A, B and C with 8, 10 and 4 beds respectively. This is made up of 14 level 3 beds and 8 level 2 beds.

You will be responsible for effective administration duties, booking patient appointments, call handling, email coordination and other administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administration Duties: Ensure patient case notes are available, maintained and up to date.
  • Data Input: Enter data on the Patient Administration System (PAS) in line with the Trust Waiting List and outpatient’s procedures and policies.
  • Communication: Respond to telephone enquiries from hospital staff and patients efficiently and conscientiously.
  • Record Keeping: Ensure the safe keeping and availability of all clinical records relating to patients.
  • Service Development: Offer constructive views on how the existing service and teamwork can be improved upon. Contribute to service development.
  • Clerical Duties: Perform general clerical duties as required within the department.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous office-based experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • Proven organisational skills.
  • Strong commitment to personal and professional development.

Working Hours

  • 7 days a week (weekends 1 in 2) working 07:30-19:30.

Delivering and Collecting Patient’s Case Notes

  • Deliver and collect patient’s case notes, and if applicable x-rays, and investigations results from various locations throughout the hospital.
