Job Opportunity in Day Surgery Unit
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed individual to our team here in the Day Surgery Unit Westmorland General Hospital. The position would be to cover the 3 areas that the Day Surgery Staff work across in Westmorland General Hospital.
About the Role
Our team prides themselves on exceeding the expectations of our patients and their families and work very closely as a team to support each other in our everyday work.
Responsibilities
The Day Surgery Unit Team are a very busy, welcoming team looking after patients coming for many different day procedures/clinics. We are looking for an individual to provide a warm and welcoming approach to all patients, staff, and visitors attending the ward. The ideal candidate will take leadership in the management and organisation of patient records, admissions, transfers, and discharges using the appropriate IT systems. They would need to be excellent at working within a team of ward clerks.

Key responsibilities include:
- Providing and welcoming approach to all visitors to the unit.
- Liaising with the senior nurse in charge.
- Working with minimal supervision providing administrative support to the ward team.
- Keeping the IT systems live at all times.
- Dealing with sensitive, confidential information in an appropriate manner.
- Responding to ward requests from ward staff and delivering to other parts of the hospital.
Skills Required
The ideal candidate will have good communication and IT skills.

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

- Local outreach services and diagnostics provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
