Job Title
To provide an efficient administrative and clerical support service in line with service requirements. As an important link between clinical staff, patients and GPs, the post holder will be expected to project a positive and helpful image at all times.
To attend any training courses which would benefit both the Department and your own knowledge and development. To carry out all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Trust’s policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, and the Departmental procedures. Responsible for maintaining stationary stock and advising supervisor of requirements Assist in the training of new team members Arrange meetings as required
Main Duties And Responsibilities
Communication
- Communicate effectively and with a friendly manner with all staff groups and families.
- To pass on any messages given in role to the appropriate person as soon as possible
- Adherence to the Trust’s Equal Opportunities policy in the work place
- Respond to requests for information and, where appropriate, pass on information to others, maintaining confidentiality.
- Deal with day-to-day telephone enquiries to the department
- Liaise with other hospital departments i.e. Medical Records, Estates & Facilities
- When required to act as first point of contact for visitors to the department.

Administrative Duties
- Collect and sort departmental post
- Maintain and update paper-based records and IT based information as required.
- To process any documentation as requested and appropriate to department (e.g. booking in and out of medical records, processing stationary orders etc.)
- To undertake any photocopying/faxing as required by department
- To accurately type up reports, letters, general documentation etc as directed and within agreed timescales
- To cover for other administrative roles as required i.e. sickness and annual leave.
About the Organisation
North Mid is part of North Central London integrated care system – consisting of the NHS and Local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. As with other ICS’s, we are working increasingly closely with partners and indeed many of our financial and performance objectives are measured at this system level. Whilst all organisations remain as standalone, statutory bodies we have an ICS infrastructure for making shared decisions and agreeing shared approaches.
