About the Role
The Ward Clerk is an integral part of the ward team here on EGU. We are looking for someone who is proficient, organized, has good time-keeping with excellent people and communication skills. They are required to provide a comprehensive service to patients and perform to a high standard the clerical duties.
- Communicating regularly with patients' relatives and loved ones to provide updates as a point of liaison
- Facilitating the attendance of patients onto the ward
- Updating the Hive system
- Answering and responding to phone calls in a professional and timely manner
To operate within clearly defined limits of policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines within the department and when necessary improve good working practice.
We are looking for candidates who have excellent telephone and communication skills and are eager to join our Administration team at Wythenshawe.
The position is a busy customer/administration service-based role where no two days can be the same. You will need to work flexibly and apply a methodical approach to a varying workload. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

You will work alongside the Consultants, Doctors, and nurses to ensure our patients receive the best care possible, we are looking for candidates who will bring a positive approach to our working environment.
Successful candidates must have excellent IT skills and experience working in a customer service or healthcare environment as you will be expected to use IT and communication equipment associated with call handling and data input. You should demonstrate high levels of personal commitment to facilitate the delivery of a patient-focused service.
