NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC)

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

The Role

You will support effective clinical care by providing an efficient Health Records service to patients within a ward environment. You will ensure patients' health records are administered and processed accurately while maintaining strict confidentiality.

You will also provide cover across multiple wards as required. Your duties will include welcoming patients, answering telephone enquiries, booking appointments, and maintaining accurate demographic information on the patient management system.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a or a NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS).

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

  • This is a permanent position working part time hours (9)
  • These hours will be worked Saturday 08:00-18:00
  • You will be based at Royal Hospital for Children
  • Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will support effective clinical care by providing an efficient Health Records service to patients in a ward environment. You will ensure patients' health records are administered and processed accurately and remain confidential.
  • You will provide cover across multiple wards as required and will be expected to undertake duties including the reception of patients, answering telephone calls, appointment booking, and maintaining demographic information on the patient management system.

Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required to Do the Job

  • Previous clerical and/or reception experience is essential.
  • Experience of working with the general public in a customer service environment.
  • Good organisational, keyboard, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of computer systems.
