An exciting opportunity has become available on the Respiratory Support Unit
This is a dual role and will incorporate the jobs of Housekeeper and Ward clerk (50% each) at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
The Ward
The Ward is a 10 bed Respiratory unit providing level 2 ventilatory support. This will require the successful candidate to be extremely organised, committed and hardworking. It is essential that candidates have excellent IT skills and to be able to speak confidently to patients when dealing with their enquiries, either face to face or over the phone.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for:
- Using trust patient IT systems including pens/dashboard and IPM
- Ensuring patient discharge letters are sent and filed
- Having follow-up appointments for their next treatment arranged if required
- Ensuring specialist stock and equipment is maintained and ordered
- Reporting maintenance requests and other specific tasks to meet individual patient needs as determined by ward manager
- Monitoring quality standards and working closely with contractors and support services
Enhanced organisational skills are required to ensure confidentiality is maintained and case notes, letters and documentation are kept securely. The ideal candidate must be approachable, committed and kind and wish to actively participate in what is a friendly and hardworking team as well as directly with the public.

Main Roles
- Answering the phone
- Good basic computer skills
- Ensuring patients appointments have been booked
- Filing and organising on the clinical area
- Ensuring stock is ordered and equipment maintained
- Identifying any problems with cleanliness, ensuring all surfaces are cleaned appropriately
Knowledge of CoSHH is also required.
