Ward Manager Position at Hurst Place, Tameside General Hospital
An opportunity has arisen for a Ward Manager position on Hurst Place at Tameside General Hospital. Hurst Place is a 15-bed mental health rehabilitation unit for males who suffer from complex and enduring mental health illnesses. Our service users may also present with physical health conditions and other comorbidities.
Role Responsibilities
The job will involve clinical leadership alongside operational management.
Management of the Clinical Team
- Ensuring that the team are working effectively both as individuals and as a team.
- This includes: recruitment, retention, development, support, and performance management of their staff.
Management of the Service User Experience
- Acting as the clinical lead for the unit.
- Leading the multidisciplinary team.
- Ensuring that their team are responsive to service user needs.
- Ensuring that the clinical documentation is robust.

Management of Local Governance Processes
- Auditing and evaluating the services as required by the Trust and Directorate policies.
- Reporting into the Governance and Clinical Business Unit (CBU) meetings.
- Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager.
