Development Opportunity: Oncology Day Unit Manager (Band 7)
A development opportunity has arisen within the Oncology Day units at Alnwick and Berwick for a Manager (Band 7) to provide clinical/operational management for patients undertaking Systematic Anti-Cancer Treatment.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the nurse-led Oncology Day Units treating a range of tumour groups. You will work closely with the wider members of the MDT, palliative care, and other clinicians in providing high-quality care.

To provide clinical expertise through the role of Oncology Day Unit manager to manage and develop the service. The post holder will work in close liaison with the other Unit Manager, and other Deputy Sister/Deputy Charge Nurses, Matrons, Practice Development Team (PDT) and the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) to provide the highest quality of assessment and evaluated care required to support each patient in their care pathway and improve the patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical expertise in the Oncology Day Unit.
- Manage and develop the service.
- Work in close liaison with other Unit Managers, Deputy Sister/Deputy Charge Nurses, Matrons, Practice Development Team (PDT), and the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).
- Provide high-quality assessment and evaluated care to support each patient in their care pathway and improve the patient experience.
Requirements
- Candidates should be working within the SACT service.
- Significant post-registration experience is required.
- Previous experience of giving SACT and managing toxicities/acute oncology symptoms.
- Enhanced knowledge and decision-making skills are essential.
- Completion of the clinical skills course or equivalent would be an advantage.
