Ward Manager (Band 7)

St John's Hospice, Doncaster

37.5 Hours per Week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse to join St John's Hospice as our Ward Manager.

This is a rewarding leadership role within a highly respected specialist palliative and end of life care service, where you will have the opportunity to influence patient experience, develop staff and shape the future of hospice care. You will lead a committed nursing team delivering outstanding, person-centred care to patients and those important to them during some of life's most significant moments.

Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, you will provide visible clinical and operational leadership, ensure safe, effective and compassionate care whilst fostering a positive culture of learning, development and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

The post holder will provide professional, managerial and robust clinical leadership to a specified ward area. The post holder is responsible for promoting and assuring robust risk assessment and management processes and will manage within the constraints of the identified budget as directed by the Service Manager.

The post holder will actively support and participate in the integration of a whole system approach with multidisciplinary working at all times and will perform delegated duties on behalf of the Service Manager in their absence.

The post holder will ensure everyone, including staff, patients and visitors, has their right to be treated with respect and have their values and beliefs maintained, ensuring that they are treated in such a way that maintains their privacy and dignity.
