About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and dynamic leader to manage our 25-bedded Stroke Rehabilitation Unit. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong leadership, organizational, and operational management skills who is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of effective systems and processes that enhance the safety, quality, and efficiency of stroke rehabilitation services.
- Inspire and support a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and compassionate care.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement clinical protocols, drive service improvement initiatives, and ensure patients receive evidence-based rehabilitation tailored to their individual needs.
- Play a pivotal role in enabling patients to achieve the best possible outcomes throughout their rehabilitation journey while supporting staff development and maintaining high standards of clinical practice.
Professional and Operational Leadership
- Provide professional and operational leadership with continuing responsibility for the 24-hour management of the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Lead, manage, and support the ward team, including registered and unregistered nursing staff, ward clerks, and other ward-based personnel, undertaking line management responsibilities such as performance management, appraisal, supervision, recruitment, and staff development.

Clinical Excellence
- Promote excellence in clinical practice by fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and evidence-based care, leading service developments that enhance patient safety, experience, and outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate the delivery of comprehensive stroke rehabilitation, ensuring care is individualized, goal-orientated, and supports patients to achieve their maximum level of independence.
Resource Management
- Ensure effective management of ward resources, including workforce, equipment, and delegated budgets, to deliver efficient, high-quality services and achieve organizational objectives.
- Create and maintain a positive learning environment that supports the education, training, and professional development of students, the nursing team, and the wider multidisciplinary workforce.
Communication and Collaboration
- Develop and maintain effective communication and collaborative working relationships across professional groups and organizational boundaries to ensure seamless patient care.
