Ward B2 is a 24-bedded Acute Frailty ward within the Division of Medicine and Emergency Care Group.
You will work closely with the Multidisciplinary Teams ensuring the highest standards of safe, personal, and effective care is being delivered. A flexible approach and the ability to respond to the demands of a rapidly changing acute clinical environment are essential.
The team is committed to providing high standards of safe, personal, and effective care at all times in a calm, reassuring, and caring environment.
- You will demonstrate strong leadership qualities and have a passion for improving the patient and relative experience in addition to having a sound clinical knowledge base.
- In addition to this, you will possess well-developed communication skills that will be used to engage, inspire, and motivate both staff and patients in the clinical area.
- Good time management skills are essential, as is the ability to prioritize your workload.

You will be responsible for the leadership and development of the ward nursing team.
You will be responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs of care for this vulnerable and frail group of patients. You will need to set the standards of care and the management of the ward including the deployment and supervision of staff and where the teaching of student and/or extensive nursing intervention is required. To support the coordination of medical emergency admissions to the Trust. To effectively communicate with all the Wards and Departments, Emergency Department, and General Practitioners to ensure timely and appropriate admissions and smooth, safe transfers and discharges. Participate in the Band 7 out-of-hours shift system to provide adequate nurse management cover on the hospital site.
