Job Overview
Come and work with the friendly Central delivery suite team, welcoming and supporting women and birthing people on their pregnancy and birth journey.

Main Duties of the Job
- Being the first friendly face visitors see when arriving on the ward.
- Communicating with and working as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
- To carry out admin work in a ward environment; including, filing, open post, updating electronic patient records with patients information, having over the bed state, admitting, transfer and discharge patients. Support the ward with reporting maintenance needs, equipment faults, porting request, booking transport and organising deep cleans.

You will be located on Central Delivery Suite, a busy unit within the retained estates of Southmead Hospital.
Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
- To deal with external/internal enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner
- To be aware of patient confidentiality at all times
- To carry out the filing of medical notes
- To deal with any phone enquiries when required
- To ensure attendance at mandatory training sessions, involvement in appraisals and personal development plans and adherence to Trust policies
- To work under standard operating procedures (SOP’S)
- To carry out admin work in a ward environment; including, filing, open post, updating electronic patient records with patient information, having over the bed state, admitting, transfer and discharge patients. Support the ward with reporting maintenance needs, equipment faults, portering requests, booking transport and organising deep cleans.
- Being the first friendly face visitors see when arriving on the ward.
- Play a role in supporting the safety of the delivery suite by appropriately managing visitors to the ward.
- Communicating with and working as part of the multi-disciplinary team
- Support other areas within Women and Childrens with admin needs.
- Have the ability to escalate concerns appropriately and seek support
- Previous experience of working with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is a must, CareFlow experience will be an advantage although training will be provided.
- Being an extremely busy department, the ability to work under pressure, problem solving and having the ability to prioritise changing workloads is absolutely essential for this role.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- GCSE in Maths and English
- Keyboard skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to develop good working relationships
- Ability to problem solve and prioritise workload
Desirable Criteria
- Experience within NHS or similar setting
