Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprenticeship
About the Role
In your first year, you will complete a fully funded Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative apprenticeship. You will learn the business from the ground up: picking and packing orders, managing stock, working with our warehouse systems, and understanding how goods move from our suppliers in Spain to customers across the country.
What you'll do at work
- Picking and packing customer orders, including chilled and ambient products
- Labelling parcels and booking courier collections
- Receiving deliveries and putting stock away correctly
- Carrying out stock counts and rotating stock on a first in, first out basis
- Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy and organised
- Learning our warehouse management system
- Learning to operate pallet trucks, and in time, forklift equipment

- Conduct risk assessments within the working environment.
- Apply safe working practices in line with associated health and safety legislation and company policy.
- Receive products in line with organisational procedures.
- Store and pick products in line with organisational procedures.
- Dispatch products in line with organisational procedures.
- Decant, pack products in line with organisational procedures.
- Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
- Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
- Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
- Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
- Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
- Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
- Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
- Support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
- Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
- Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
- Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
- Carry out and record learning and development activities.
- Conducts handover activities.

Training schedule

- Training will take place from the workplace
- You will have remote sessions regularly with your tutor
- 6 hours of off the job training each week
- Training provided by Learning Curve Group

After this apprenticeship

In your second year, you will move into a different apprenticeship in an area that suits your strengths and interests, chosen from a shortlist we provide. Past routes have included marketing, sales and customer service, and IT. Wherever you go next, it will be a genuine specialism, not a token add-on, and it will be shaped by where you show promise during year one.
By the end of the two years, you will hold two recognised qualifications and a real understanding of how a growing import and distribution business works, from the warehouse floor upward. The forward-thinking nature of our business should not be overlooked.
