Salary: £30,700, dependent on experience

Job Overview:
Warehouse Assistants are involved in all aspects of the smooth running of the Warehouse and directly assisting the Warehouse Team Leader and Warehouse Manager. This includes managing Goods in, Goods out and liaising with the Warehouse Team Leader and Warehouse Manager to ensure stock movement is done safely, efficiently, and accurately.
What will you do?
Your Primary Responsibilities and Duties Will Be:
Goods in
- Scan in goods
- Store goods received accurately and tidily
- Return equipment to stock locations
Goods Out
- Safe movement of stock and materials in preparation for collection
- Select required stock
- Scan stock out
- Complete associated paperwork/computerise stock system updates
- Oversees and manages the movements of inbound and outbound trucks and takes ownership of the trucks moving into, around and out of the loading bays
- Directs workers who load and tip trucks
- Load and unload vans and trucks
- Oversees and manages the shipping of inbound and outbound transfers and takes ownership of the safe packaging of goods to be transferred
- Carry out stock takes as and when requested
- Maintain tidiness of warehouse
- Fully comply with Health and Safety legislation and procedures, including reporting accidents etc.
- Cooperate with accident/incident investigations in order to prevent reoccurrence
- Act as a Deputy Warehouse Manager as part of the Weekend Movements Rota and on other days as may be required from time to time
- Give H&S inductions to guest/visitors as and when necessary
- Any other task deemed necessary for the smooth running of the warehouses and departments

What Skills and Experience We Are Looking For:
- Previous experience of working in a warehouse
- Possess manual handling capability to handle large amounts of stock daily – this is a labour-intensive position
- Able to work collaboratively and to carry out activities in the prescribed manner
- Reliable and dependable
- Experience of operating pedestrian stacker, counter-balance forklift, and other plant is desirable
- Current plant operating licenses are desirable, but training will be provided
- Ability to work in a focused and efficient manner
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships
- Attention to detail and the ability to produce consistently accurate work
- Self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature

Our operating hours are 8am to 8pm Monday to Sunday. Standard working hours are 40 hours per week, 10am to 6pm, five out of seven days, Monday to Sunday with an unpaid break of 60 minutes. You may be required to work a reasonable amount of paid overtime.
