Warehouse Coordinator
Location
Barrow-in-Furness, UK
Contract Details
- Start Date: 30th September 2026
- End Date: 30th April 2027
- Work Style: 7 days on / 7 days off, 12 hour days
Role Objective
Operate within the warehouse as an inventory and distribution specialist, supporting accurate stock control and efficient order fulfilment. Maintain accurate inventory records and provide clear visibility of stock levels, movements and outstanding requirements. Support safe, organised and reliable warehouse operations through strong attention to detail, effective prioritisation and proactive problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day warehouse, inventory and distribution activities in support of operational requirements.
- Oversee stock levels and maintain complete and accurate inventory records.
- Support the receipt, storage, picking, movement and dispatch of materials and equipment.
- Ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and within required operational timescales.
- Use SAP or a comparable ERP system and Microsoft Office applications to record and manage warehouse information.
- Maintain organised and safe warehouse working practices and support applicable HSE requirements.
Tasks
- Receive, check and record incoming goods and materials.
- Locate, pick and prepare stock for operational teams and outbound distribution.
- Complete stock checks, investigate discrepancies and update inventory records promptly.
- Operate forklift equipment safely and in accordance with applicable procedures and authorisations.
- Manage multiple warehouse priorities while maintaining accuracy and service levels.
- Communicate clearly with operations, logistics, supply-chain and other relevant stakeholders.
- Use digital systems and new software tools confidently to support warehouse processes and reporting.
- Identify practical solutions to stock, order-fulfilment and workflow issues.

Deliverables
- Accurate and current inventory and stock-level records.
- Timely and accurate fulfilment of material and equipment orders.
- Completed records for goods receipt, storage, stock movements and dispatch.
- Resolved or appropriately escalated inventory discrepancies.
- Safe and organised warehouse operations.
Decision Authority / Responsibility
- Take responsibility for the accuracy of assigned inventory records and warehouse transactions.
- Prioritise daily warehouse activities in line with operational demand and agreed procedures.
- Escalate stock shortages, discrepancies, safety issues and fulfilment risks through the appropriate operational channels.

Requirements
- Valid clean driving licence.
- Qualified and authorised forklift truck driver.
- GCSEs in English and Mathematics, or recognised equivalent qualifications.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- IT literacy, including SAP or a comparable ERP system and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organisational skills, close attention to detail and the ability to manage competing tasks efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive problem-solving approach and willingness to learn new technology and software tools.
- Previous experience in warehouse management, logistics, inventory, distribution or supply chain is desirable.
- HSE experience is desirable.
- Interest in sustainability and the green-energy sector.
- Background verification is required before onboarding.
Working Conditions
- Onsite role operating within the project warehouse environment.
- Work includes inventory handling, order fulfilment, forklift operation and regular use of warehouse and office systems.
- Must follow all applicable warehouse safety procedures, traffic-management rules and equipment requirements.
