Overview

With our Head Office Location in Great Dunmow, Essex as your base of operations, you will be required to make a daily delivery and collection run out to our client sites throughout the East and South of our Great Dunmow head office. This will include all London and travelling as far as east and south coast locations.

Deliveries will involve dropping off our specialist range of plant alongside general electrical materials to our site teams. Collections will specifically be related to collecting hired plant items and checking these for damage prior to departure from site.

Both the primary operations will involve completing some company specific paperwork, when delivering or collecting.

When driving activities are not required the driver will assist the stores and/or service team with general warehouse duties/plant repairs and light electrical assembly.

Specific Skills Preferred

Essential

  • Must have a full clean driving licence
  • Minimum one year of multi-drop prior driving experience
  • Have geographical knowledge of East, South and London regions
  • Be able to lift heavy items and use lifting equipment when required.
  • Hold a current CSCS card or similar

Responsible For Warehouse

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities of the role

Transport

  • To ensure load security and safety prior to departure.
  • To ensure all required delivery and collection paperwork is present and correct prior to departure.
  • Deliver and collect plant from client construction sites.
  • Always drive the vehicle in an efficient and safe way with an appropriate level of consideration to other road users and our clients.
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is fully up to date, accurate and communicated to the relevant persons in line with company processes.
  • Maintain the delivery vehicle in a clean and tidy condition and report any incidents/accidents/damage.
  • Hold adequate stocks of site paperwork and electrical spares on the vehicle
  • Complete the daily vehicle safety checks and record findings.
  • Work with an environmental awareness to recycle and avoid wastage
  • Check returned plant for damage and note for future repair work
  • Carry out any necessary paperwork accurately and promptly
  • Assist with some light electrical assembly work
  • Cleaning and basic repairs to company plant and equipment
