About The Role

As one of the UK's largest retailers, Smyths Toys relies on the efficiency and effectiveness of our distribution centers. We consider each of our regional warehouses to be a well-oiled machine, driven by a customer-centric mentality. To deliver on our promise to consumers, we count on exceptionally talented and committed people. Currently, we’re seeking a warehouse duty manager to join our team to assist in managing our operations, within our warehouse in Corby.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Site General Manager & Deputy Manager
  • Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal, by supervising, organising, directing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals
  • Oversee daily operations, while controlling and managing inventory and logistics
  • KPI Monitoring
  • Constantly looking for areas of improvement in processes of the business
  • Train, develop and manage their warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short and long-term performance goals
  • To promote, improve and maintain a professional working environment and employee experience for both temporary and permanent employees
  • Implementing and ensuring that teams adhere to operational policies and procedures
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations

The Ideal Candidate

  • Supervisory or management experience in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of planning, organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Highly motivated and ambitious
  • A confident self-starter with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Strong multi-tasking skills to prioritise conflicting deadlines
  • Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to building good relationships with the customers, your team and other key stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office packages
