VSL Productions is looking for a reliable and motivated Warehouse & Events AV Technician to join our team at our Welham Green HQ.

About the Role

This is a varied technical role combining warehouse operations with occasional live event support.

You will help prepare, maintain and manage Video, Sound and Lighting equipment for hire and production jobs, while also supporting deliveries, installations, event setups and de-rigs when required.

The role would suit someone who already has some experience within live events and wants to develop their technical knowledge in a growing production company.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Prepare, test, label and pack Video, Sound and Lighting equipment
  • Check returned equipment and identify missing or damaged items
  • Carry out basic equipment maintenance and repairs where trained
  • Maintain accurate equipment locations and stock records
  • Keep the warehouse organised, safe and efficient
  • Maintain PAT testing records and support routine electrical safety checks
  • Build, repair and test cables and adapters
  • Load and unload AV equipment
  • Carry out deliveries and collections using company vehicles
  • Assist with occasional event setups, installations and de-rigs
  • Support live events on-site when required
  • Work in line with company health and safety procedures

What We're Looking For

You will need:

  • Some previous experience within live events or AV production
  • A genuine interest in Video, Sound and Lighting equipment
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Good attention to detail
  • A reliable and organised approach
  • Strong time-management skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A willingness to learn and develop your technical knowledge
  • Confidence carrying out regular manual handling and loading/unloading of equipment
  • A professional approach when dealing with colleagues and clients
  • Previous van driving experience would be beneficial.

About VSL Productions

Founded in 2017, VSL Productions has grown from supporting small parties and functions to delivering large conferences, theatre productions and live events.

We now provide Video, Sound and Lighting equipment for more than 200 events each year and work with world-class agencies to support high-quality events in the UK and internationally.

Our team is based at our Welham Green HQ, just a five-minute walk from the station with free parking available on-site.

Hours & Event Work

Your usual hours will be:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:30am-5:00pm, with a 30-minute lunch break.

Some flexibility will be required depending on business needs.

Event work may occasionally involve early starts, evenings or weekends. Additional hours are managed through overtime pay or time off in lieu, agreed in advance wherever possible.
