Multi-Skilled Warehouse FLT Operative

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire

Salary: £34,706 per annum during probation, increasing to £40,831 after successful completion of 3-month probation

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 42 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Panama Style Continental Shifts (Days & Nights)

About The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Warehouse FLT Operative to join a well-established food manufacturing business based in Corby, Northamptonshire. This is a permanent opportunity offering excellent long-term career prospects, competitive pay, and the chance to work within a fast-paced production and distribution environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting warehouse operations, operating forklift trucks safely and efficiently, maintaining stock accuracy, and ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Counterbalance FLT, Pivot Steer FLT and PPT equipment (where licensed and trained).
  • Load, unload, move, and store goods safely and efficiently.
  • Carry out warehouse duties including stock control, goods receipt, stock rotation, and dispatch activities.
  • Ensure product quality and integrity are maintained at all times.
  • Accurately use warehouse management and stock control systems.
  • Complete required documentation and communicate effectively via email and internal systems.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, GMP and company procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse operation.
  • Minimise product damage and waste.
  • Undertake manual handling duties, including lifting and moving loads up to 25kg.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across warehouse, production and logistics teams.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management.

Essential Requirements

  • Current Counterbalance FLT Licence (a copy must be provided prior to interview).
  • Reasonable IT skills, including Microsoft Office, email communication and warehouse/stock management systems.
  • Ability and willingness to lift and move loads up to 25kg.
  • Ability and commitment to work the Panama-style shift pattern.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Previous warehouse operative experience.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within a warehouse environment.
  • Reliable, organised and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Requirements

  • Current Pivot Steer FLT Licence.
  • Current PPT (Powered Pallet Truck) Licence.
  • Previous experience within a food manufacturing or food production environment.

Shift Pattern

This role operates on a Panama-style continental shift pattern, covering both 12-hour day and night shifts.

Please note: These shifts are non-negotiable, and applicants must be able to commit to the rotating shift schedule.
