Deliveries & Installations

• Drive company vans to customer premises and exhibition/event venues.
• Deliver truss, lighting, furniture, graphics and other equipment.
• Carry out exhibition and event installations and dismantling.
• Work at major venues including the NEC, ExCeL London, Olympia and other locations throughout the UK.
• Take the lead on-site and coordinate other fitters during installations.
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
• Liaise professionally with clients, venue staff, contractors and other on-site personnel.
• Act as a professional representative of James Associates, TAF-UK and TrussHire.
• Identify and resolve practical issues on-site where possible.
• Report any damage, problems or discrepancies to the appropriate person.
• Ensure equipment and the work area are left clean, tidy and safe following installations.

Working Hours & Flexibility

The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Due to the nature of the events and exhibitions industry, additional hours are a normal part of the role and all additional hours are paid at the normal hourly rate.

Across the year, we would expect the average working week to be approximately 40–50 hours, although this will vary depending on our event and installation schedule.

The role will involve:

• Early starts and late finishes: typically around once per week, although this will vary depending on installation requirements.
• Weekend work: typically around one weekend per month, although this can be more or less depending on the event calendar.
• Overnight stays: occasional, generally limited to a handful of periods each year.

We will provide as much notice as possible for additional working requirements.

The successful candidate must therefore be comfortable with a flexible working pattern and understand that exhibition and event work can sometimes require working outside normal hours.

About You

We are looking for someone who is practical, dependable and willing to get stuck in.

You will need to be comfortable working both in a warehouse environment and on-site at busy exhibition venues.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A practical, hands-on approach to work.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and take responsibility for tasks.
• Confidence coordinating and supervising other people on-site.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• A professional and approachable manner when dealing with clients.
• The ability to remain calm and practical when working to deadlines.
• A willingness to travel throughout the UK.
• A full UK driving licence.

Forklift experience/certification is desirable.

Previous experience in events, exhibitions, installation, construction, warehousing or another practical environment is desirable.

Experience within the events and exhibitions industry, particularly with truss or exhibition stand installation, would be an advantage but is not essential.

The most important things are a good attitude, reliability, practical ability and a willingness to take responsibility.

What We Offer

• £15.50–£16.50 per hour, depending on experience.
• All additional hours paid at the normal hourly rate.
