Overall purpose

To lead and develop the Warehouse and Hygiene teams to ensure safe, efficient, accurate, and cost-effective warehousing operations that fully support production plans and exceed customer service levels. The Warehouse Lead will own warehouse-specific systems, stock accuracy, and continuous improvement initiatives, while collaborating closely with the Factory Shift Managers to deliver the overall site objectives.

Key Rules & Standards

  • Ensure the inbound and outbound Schedule (XPO Calendar) is populated correctly and that the plan is realistic and achievable.
  • Ensure operators are not using mobile phones on the shop floor at any time.
  • Ensure operators do not leave the shop floor early, all personnel must remain in the factory until at least 10 minutes before the end of their scheduled shift.
  • Embed high standards of housekeeping across production areas, including “Clean as You Go” practices at all times.
  • Ensure no shoes are left on the floor in the changing rooms.
  • Ensure there are no open bags of products in the production or warehouse areas, and all products must have a bag label.
  • During any checks, paperwork or system must be completed live as the checks are conducted, and accurately.

Management Responsibility

  • Agree, review, and report regularly against warehouse-specific KPIs (stock accuracy, picking/loading accuracy, on-time dispatch, hygiene & housekeeping standards, waste management, pallet management, consumables, and expenditure).
  • Manage the warehouse (including container unloading team) and hygiene teams, including recruitment, role evaluation, induction, training, performance appraisal, development, motivation, and handling performance, conduct, and grievance issues (with referral to HR as required).
  • Agree, review, and operate within the warehouse expenditure budget.

Operational Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):

  • Manage and monitor all warehouse operational activities through daily/weekly meetings and reporting to ensure performance against planned targets.
  • Develop the Warehouse team and systems to deliver.
  • Support and lead with other stakeholders the Annual Stock Take across both sites.
  • Liaise with Auditors whilst on site; reviewing, maintaining, and issuing stocktake instructions; ensure all participants in stocktake receive the correct training.
  • Always ready to engage with customers and visitors regarding warehouse and dispatch operations as required.
  • Order supplies and manage warehouse consumables when stock runs low.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • MHE – Reach / Counterbalance licenses required.
  • Strong degree of flexibility within a multi-targeted environment.
  • Team player.
  • Management skills and be able to lead and motivate a team.
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel).
