Warehouse & Logistics Manager

Lydney

Up to £52,000 - negotiable for the right experience

Yolk Recruitment is supporting a leading manufacturing organisation with the recruitment of a Warehouse & Logistics Manager to take responsibility for its warehousing, materials and logistics operations based in Lydney.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Warehouse & Logistics Manager from a manufacturing, FMCG or similarly fast-paced environment to take ownership of a busy operation spanning two warehouse facilities and the wider logistics function. You'll lead an established Warehouse team alongside Logistics Coordinators, overseeing internal and external warehousing, stock and material movements, transport and 3PL activity.

This role would suit a strong operational people manager who combines hands-on warehouse leadership with solid logistics experience, ideally including transport, 3PLs and international shipping. You'll need excellent control of inventory, materials and warehouse capacity, alongside the ability to develop teams, improve processes and drive greater efficiency across both Warehouse and Logistics operations.

This is what you'll be doing

  • Leading the day-to-day operation of the on-site warehouse, with responsibility for a team of Warehouse and Logistics employees.
  • Managing the relationship and operational activity with an external warehouse facility, ensuring stock is transferred effectively between locations as internal capacity changes.
  • Maintaining visibility and control of warehouse capacity and space utilisation, anticipating constraints and coordinating stock movements accordingly.
  • Overseeing the complete flow of materials through the operation, from goods-in and raw material storage through Production, finished goods storage and final dispatch.
  • Managing the storage and movement of a varied range of materials and finished products including bales, bulk bags, pallets and jumbo rolls.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory and stock movement information across SAP and the company's MRP systems, ensuring physical stock and system records remain aligned.
  • Working closely with Production and wider Supply Chain teams to understand material requirements, manufacturing schedules and upcoming capacity demands.
  • Overseeing inbound and outbound transport activity, working with carriers, hauliers and third-party logistics providers to maintain reliable and cost-effective service.
  • Monitoring inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stocktakes and investigation of discrepancies, implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Leading, motivating and developing the Warehouse and Logistics team through regular 1:1s, performance management, coaching, KPI setting and ongoing development.
  • Establishing and monitoring operational KPIs across warehouse performance, inventory, service and efficiency.
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse layouts, processes, systems and material movements to improve safety, efficiency and cost.
  • Supporting international logistics requirements including customs clearance and road and sea freight, ensuring appropriate documentation and processes are followed.
  • Working cross-functionally with Production, Supply Chain and other operational departments to identify constraints, resolve issues and maintain the effective movement of materials throughout the site.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
