Key Responsibilities

• Take overall ownership of the company's warehouse and logistics operation.
• Lead, manage and develop the warehouse, logistics, driving and installation function.
• Plan and coordinate deliveries, installations and collections across London and the wider UK.
• Ensure the right personnel, vehicles and equipment are assigned to each project.
• Work closely with interior designers and project teams to understand forthcoming installations and operational requirements.
• Oversee the safe loading, transportation, installation and collection of high-value furniture, artwork and accessories.
• Maintain exceptional standards of care throughout handling and transportation.
• Manage warehouse workflow, organisation, space utilisation and operational standards.
• Ensure furniture and products are correctly prepared and available ahead of installations.
• Work closely with the Stock Controller to ensure physical movements are reflected accurately within inventory systems.
• Coordinate external haulage, freight and specialist logistics partners where required.
• Oversee vehicle utilisation and ensure appropriate operational and safety standards are maintained.
• Establish clear processes, responsibilities and accountability throughout the warehouse and logistics team.
• Monitor operational performance and introduce meaningful KPIs where appropriate.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and service delivery.
• Introduce and refine processes capable of supporting continued business growth.
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, manual handling and warehouse compliance.
• Manage damage, operational issues and unexpected project changes calmly and commercially.
• Support recruitment, training, development and performance management within the team.
• Manage relevant operational expenditure and seek sensible opportunities to improve cost efficiency.
• Provide senior leadership with clear visibility of operational performance, resource requirements and potential risks.

About You

My client is looking for someone with a strong track record within warehousing and logistics management who is accustomed to taking responsibility rather than simply administering an established process.

You may currently be a Warehouse Manager, Logistics Manager, Operations Manager, Distribution Manager or already operating at Head of level.

Experience within furniture, home interiors, removals, white-glove logistics, premium home delivery or high-value goods would be particularly attractive, but it is not essential.

Equally relevant could be an accomplished logistics professional from a sophisticated 3PL, retail, distribution or contract logistics environment who is attracted by the opportunity to step into a smaller business where they can have considerably greater ownership and influence.

The key is being comfortable moving between the boardroom and the warehouse floor.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
• Calm under pressure and capable of managing competing priorities.
• Comfortable working collaboratively with creative and design-led teams.
• A practical, visible and hands-on leadership style.
• Experience with furniture, removals, home delivery or white-glove logistics would be highly advantageous.
